Radioactive Device stolen from a vehicle:

On January 31, 2012, Manteca Police Department responded to the 800 block of Nevada Street regarding an incident of a theft from a vehicle. It was reported that the theft occurred between the hours of 6:00pm (1/30/2012) and 6:00am (1/31/2012).

Police were advised that one of the items taken in the vehicle burglary was a NUCLEAR DENSOMETER. This Nuclear Densometer (Nuclear Surface Gauge) is radioactive; however, the device does not pose a danger, as it is. Should the gauge become compromised, in any way, it could be a danger to the individual handling it.

The gauge is enclosed in a yellow box; the box is about 3 feet wide and 2 feet deep. The box has handles, latches and Radioactive Symbols (Put Description of a Radioactive Symbol) on it. The Densometer is described as a shoe box sized having a handle.
