On 11/1/2011, Manteca Police took a report of a subject selling fake magazine subscriptions.

On 10/27/2011, a suspect approached the victim in the Target parking lot. He said he was with Delta College, selling magazines to gain points. He sold the victim over a dozen magazines for about $30 each. The victim then obtained $520 from her ATM and gave it to the suspect. After the subscription company did not call, the victim became suspicious. The victim was informed they had been scammed.

The subject is described as a black male adult. He is about 30 years old, 6’1” – 6’3” tall, 185 lb, short/balding hair, and has miscellaneous tattoos on his arms and hands. He was wearing a blue shirt and blue jean pants. It appears that it is occurring throughout several cities in San Joaquin County. Delta College Police Department also has similar cases.

October 27, 2011

On 10/27/2011 at about 7:10pm, Manteca Police officers were dispatched to W. Yosemite Ave. and El Portal Ave regarding a collision involving a motorcycle and a pick-up truck. During the investigation it was discovered that the motorcycle was traveling east on West Yosemite Avenue, when a pickup headed north from El Portal Avenue pulled out in front of him.

The motorcyclist hit the truck’s left rear quarter panel, and he sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the pickup paused briefly before speeding off west on West Yosemite, and then turned north onto North Union Road.

Manteca Police is searching for a two door extended cab 2000 Cobalt blue Dodge Dakota with damage to its left rear quarter panel. The left rear tire was also flattened. The driver was described as a Hispanic male adult, mid 20’s to early 30’s.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at a Kaiser Hospital shortly after the accident. He was identified as Lewis Ehles, 22 years old, from Stockton, Ca.

West Yosemite was closed until late into the evening. Manteca Police Chaplains were called in and assisted with notifying the family. Manteca Police Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) was also called in and is responsible for the investigation.

Significant Event

On 12/03/10, approximately 2:38 AM, MPD Officers responded to Lathrop Rd. and Pasado St. in regards to a robbery.

The four (4) victims were riding their motorized go-peds westbound at the 1800 block of Lathrop Rd. A silver sedan started following the victims westbound on Lathrop Rd. The sedan quickly pulled in front of two of the victims, cutting them off. Two black male adults jumped out of the right front and right rear passenger seats. The right front passenger was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun. S-1 pointed the gun at the victim’s face. S-2 (right rear passenger) grabbed the victim’s go-ped and stuck the go-ped in the back seat of the suspect vehicle. The suspects got back into the silver sedan and the vehicle accelerated westbound on Lathrop Rd. The vehicle was last seen entering Lathrop and heading towards I-5.

None of the victims were injured.

S-1 was described as a black male adult, approximately 20 years old, 6’ tall, approximately 180 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants. S-1 was armed with a black semi-automatic handgun.

S-2 was described as a black male adult, approximately 18-10 years old, 6’3” tall, approximately 220 pounds, wearing a dark “puffy” hooded jacket (no further description).

S-3 (the driver) was described as a black male adult, approximately 20 years old, short black hair, mustache, wearing a white T-shirt.

The suspect vehicle was described a silver 4-door sedan, similar to a Ford Fusion or Dodge Stratus.

1- 13" CRAIG FLAT SCREEN TV VALUED AT 149.99.

SUSPECT IS A SILVER HAIRED GUY WITH BEARD AND ARMY JACKET. SUSPECT HAD A GETAWAY DRIVER WAITING OUTSIDE IN CAR SHOWN AND FLED NB TOWARD STOCKTON.
